I found some quotes that I believe are very relevant to the stage that Joe and I are in life right now. These came out of my current favorite book of the moment that I happen to be re-reading called “The 4-Hour Workweek” by Tim Ferris.

“Action may not always bring happiness, but there is no happiness without action.”
-Benjamin Disraeli, Former British Prime Minister

“There’s no difference between a pessimist who says, “Oh, it’s hopeless, so don’t bother doing anything,” and an optimist who says, “Don’t bother doing anything, it’s going to turn out fine anyway.” Either way, nothing happens.”
-Yvon Chouinard, Founder of Patagonia

The reason these quotes are very relevant right now is because Joe and I are attempting to get a few online businesses going. I’m hessitant to reveal any facts about our other current ventures at this moment since we are still in sort of a market research phase but we do have things in the works and we do have some backing to get them up and going. But that is not the point of this post. The point is that if you have ideas, get going on them. Don’t hesitate to get going. Procrastination will kill your ideas. Move forward with it before you forget it or someone else comes along and takes it. Get your goals on paper and share them with people. Share them with as many people as possible. This will drive you. If everyone knows about your goals, you will feel obligated to accomplish them. Three years from now, you don’t want someone coming to you saying, “What ever happened to that goal you had?” and you reply, “I never had time, I still work for that shutter company…”

Our first step was this blog. It’s a way for us to get our goals out there and not just share them with close friends but with whomever wants to listen.

Get going today because the opportunities may not be there tomorrow.
