I read this great article over at a site called Dumb Little Man. The article was a detailed post on How to Blog. I’m sure most of our readers have already checked out this article because it was featured over at problogger. I really like the article and I think everyone should go give it a read. I just wanted to make some comments that pertain to this site. The author, Jay, discusses his work schedule and flat out talks about how hectic his schedule is. He points out that, while blogging is a big priority, you have got to focus on your normal job first. (He also has an entertaining little video of a guy who is a little too obsessed and it’s affecting his work…) This is the case with Joe and I. I want to be up front and honest right now and let everyone know that there will probably be days where we don’t get a post in at all. Most likely, this will be due to tough days at the office or stressful night classes. So, with that being said, we will do our absolute best to provide quality content on pretty much a daily basis. We usually have pretty hectic weekends as well. You will probably rarely get much out of us on the weekends. Statistics show that weekends tend to be very slow for blogs anyway.

One thing that I completely agree with 100% is that when a blog is first starting out that you should read ProBlogger religiously. That site has been so helpful to us and I still read it on a daily basis (It is only our second month with this blog). There are so many useful resources and helpful advice on that site. It’s just amazing.

One thing I really disagree with about this post is that he claims that posting on other people’s sites is not necessary. I do not agree with this at all. I think that is part of the whole big idea behind blogging. It’s all so interactive. Every blogger is interacting with every other blogger. It forms a sense of community. I’ve met so many great people that have been so helpful just by visiting other blogs, e-mailing the people and commenting on the posts. It’s also a great way to get your link out there.

The post states that you have to be “in to it.” I just want to let everyone know right now that this is our passion. We are investors, entrepreneurs, savers and business people. We love what we do and it’s pretty much all we do. Our non working hours are spent discussing our investments, our future business plans, our frugality and our blog. I promise you, we are “in to it.”
