It’s Tuesday again and on Tuesdays I like to post a list of my favorite posts from over the week. I have almost 100 blogs in my reader (not all financial) and I save the ones I like and sift through them on Tuesdays to pick the best of the best. Here are my picks for this week:
- Free Money Finance has a guest post explaining why they think ETFs are better than Mutual Funds. I made an argument for Funds. Now here is the other side.
- Free Money Finance also has a post explaining How To Start Your Own Business. Joe and I are in the process of setting up several businesses. Great read.
- One Man’s Goal lists off 101 Wordpress Plugins. Always good to know.
- The Simple Dollar compares McDonald’s hamburgers to homemade hamburgers. I’m trying to stay away from fast food as much as possible. This is an interesting read on the subject.
- The Digerati Life lists 10 Common Investing Mistakes. I’ve made a lot of mistakes in investing. Most likely, you will too. But here’s a list so that you can avoid them as much as possible.
- The Digerati Life also has a post comparing Renting to Buying. I’m having this debate myself right now as I’m looking in to moving
- Pick The Brain has 7 Tips For Resolving Conflicts Quickly and Peacefully. If you work in an office with several other employees with different personalities, you know what this is about.
- Brip Blap discusses the Things You don’t Want to Skimp on Price With. I couldn’t agree more with this article. Some things you just don’t want to go the cheap route.
- Calvin Warr discusses Strategy Vs. Execution when it comes to Marketing. Very informative. Especially if you’re in the process of setting up various businesses.
- Blueprint For Financial Prosperity discusses a Tradition IRA. Everyone discusses the Roth IRA. It’s about time someone discusses the ups and downs of the Traditional IRA.
That’s my list for this week. Enjoy.

I really liked the link about renting vs. home owning. I still would prefer to be able to have my own home, able to do whatever I please as far as additions to the property etc. in order to build more equity as well as accommodate different circumstances in life (i.e. marriage, kids, pets, home business etc…). Just an opinion, but it really makes me think that maybe especially if you are renting right now, that you should be investing that extra money while you can into stocks and other things besides the equity of a house. Good read
