I still would prefer to be able to have my own home, able to do whatever I please as far as additions to the property etc. in order to build more equity as well as accommodate different circumstances in life (i.e. marriage, kids, pets, home business etc...). Just an opinion, but it really makes me think that maybe especially if you are renting right now, that you should be investing that extra money while you can into stocks and other things besides the equity of a house.
