I’m not sure how many people outside of Southern California have heard about the wildfires here in San Diego. Here is an article that sort of explains what is going on. This same exact thing happened four years ago, almost to the day, here in San Diego. Last time when it came through, my neighborhood was one that was hit. My house was saved but a few of my neighbors were not as lucky. I woke up this morning to helicopters recommending evacuation. It’s complete Deja Vu of four years ago. It’s very dry outside and Santa Ana winds are blowing like crazy. They are saying on the radio that there are eight fires around the county alone. That’s not including what’s going on up in L.A. and Imperial County. Last night there were only two fires. The winds are spreading them like crazy. The winds have been so bad that they can’t get the water tanker planes in the air. The firefighters have not been able to really fight the fires because they’ve been so tied up with rescues and, with eight fires, they are spread so thin.

Here are a couple pictures I took out my back door when I woke up this morning:

Fire 1 Fire 2

I know this pretty off topic for my blog. But this is what’s going on in my life at this moment. I feel the need to explain myself if my blog seems slow at times. I’m currently at the office right now while my house is being threatened. I’m about to head back home and start gathering valuables because I have a feeling that this voluntary evacuation will soon be mandatory. The fires are just moving so quick. So far they are 0% contained and they’ve been burning since yesterday afternoon.
